On 16th February' 2017, a collaborative workshop was organized by World Health Organization (WHO) and INFAH on 'Antimicrobial Resistance' at Waterstones Hotel and Club, Mumbai. The workshop was attended by around 25 associated members of INFAH and the group deliberated on the role of Animal Health industry and environment in Anitimicrobial Resistance in human beings. Dr Rajesh Bhatia, Regional Technical Advisor for AMR, Emergency Center for Transboundary Animal Diseases (ECTAD), FAO entitled the group on One Health, AMR, National Antimicrobial Action plan and role of FAO in the same.
Dr. Nitin Bhatia and Mr Shraman Jha shared the animal health industry view for AMR on behalf of INFAH. Mr Satish Pasrija provided a glance of INFAH and its initiatives.
Dr. Pasrija expressed the interest of INFAH to collaborate with FAO and other government bodies for working towards the issue of AMR in humans. The workshop had group discussions on the responsibility and role of Animal Health Industry in controlling AMR in human.
