INFAH – HR Conclave

Entry of fresh and competent talent in our industry is one of the key factor for realizing untapped potential and to have aggressive business growth. HR Subcommittee organised HR Conclave - a brainstorming session to identify the ways and mediums through which the talent acquisition and manpower sourcing can be facilitated. The event was organised at Orchid Hotel, Mumbai on 21st April 2017. The event had representation from various member companies of INFAH. The main agenda of brainstorming was “How to attract new talents to animal health segment“and other topics under discussion were job profile, career progression and retaining talents.

The chairman of HR Subcommittee, Dr. B P Manjunatha opened the event with brief note on INFAH and its various activities. He elaborated on initiatives undertaken by the HR Subcommittee. Mr. Anandorup Ghose, Partner & Rewards Consulting Practice Lead, Aon Hewitt S. Asia was an external speaker invited to present the audiences with the business outlook of India and the trends observed in the manpower sourcing and retention in other industries. He highlighted the salary increase trends observed across APAC. He opined that the pay for performance in India is getting leaner and sharper every year. He also projected declining attrition rate with the no new emerging sector in the market. His presentation suggested the various initiatives the organizations are taking apart from compensation for retaining and attracting talent like learning and development, recognition programs, differentiated benefits, enabling work environment and structured career planning.

The members of HR Subcommittee shared their experiences of representing animal health industry at various colleges. Some of the suggestions came forward during the HR Conclave are INFAH contest, scholarship program in colleges, sharing success stories of alumni, heroes to share their professional journey at colleges, showcasing career path, promoting and branding animal health segment through various forum in social media linked to INFAH website, generating database of semi urban colleges and partnering with different universities to have inclusion of course.

Meeting was concluded by Dr. P G Phalke with his encouraging words on the activities of HR Subcommittee that motivated all the members.
