INFAH participated in 17th Meeting of BIS for Animal Husbandry, Feeds and Equipments

The 17th meeting of Food & Agriculture Department, Bureau of Indian Standards for Animal Husbandry, feeds and equipments was held at Lal C. Verman Conference Hall, BIS Headquarters, New Delhi on 14th November' 2017 under the chairmanship of Dr. R. K. Singh, Director and Vice Chancellor, Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), Izatnagar.

The meeting was attended by around 30 stakeholders associated with the Animal Husbandry sector. Dr. Shyam Morada, Dr. Shirish Nigam, Dr. P.G. Phalke and Dr. Nitin Bhatia attended the meeting on behalf of INFAH. Other participants included Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries; IVRI; CSWRI; PETA; CARI; MDEF & CC; FIAPO; CSE; FAIPO; NDRI; AIPFMA; PFMA; Directorate of Poultry Research; NECC; All India Poultry breeders association and CDRI. The major points of discussion were Specifications for pet food for dogs and cats; Indian standards on livestock feed ingredients; code of practices for raising of egg laying hens; and Prudent use of antibiotics.
