The Drugs & Therapeutics and the Biological & Biosecurity sub-committees of INFAH has been working consistently with Indian Pharmacopeia commission (IPC) for upgrading the veterinary monographs in the fourth volume of Indian Pharmacopeia (IP). The committee had prepared the list and monographs of pharmaceutical formulations, biologicals and active pharmaceutical ingredients monographs and submitted to IPC. With the effort of INFAH members, 14 new veterinary monographs have been included in IP 2018 and many monographs have had improvements and refinements.
In order to review and upgrade the Veterinary monographs for forthcoming IP addendum 2019, IP veterinary working group meeting was held on 9th April 2018 at Indian Pharmacopeia Commission, Ghaziabad.
INFAH sub-committee members participated in the meeting and provided scientific inputs on various veterinary monographs that needs modification or upgrading. Based on the inputs of the members, errata was published on 25th May 2018 for 11 veterinary monographs. Few modifications on some existing drug monographs and addition of new monographs are under consideration for incorporation in the IP addendum 2019.
