The 4th Annual Interface of Regulators and Animal Vaccine Industry was organised at Division of Standardization, Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), Izatnagar on 4th December’ 2017. The interface was organised by Dr. Ashok K Tiwari, Head, Division of Standardisation, IVRI was presided by Dr. R K Singh, Director and Vice Chancellor, IVRI and Dr. Rishendra Verma, Professor Emeritus, ICAR.
The interface was attended by 38 stakeholders of the Animal Health Vaccine Industry and the Regulatory infrastructure. The INFAH Biological Sub-committee in the stewardship of Dr. D K Dey along with other representatives from the industry participated in the interface. The group also had representatives from the State Veterinary biologicals viz IAHVB (Thiruvanthapuram); Punjab Veterinary Vaccine Institute, Ludhiana; Institute of Veterinary Preventive Medicine, Ranipet and others. The group deliberated on the conventional, recombinant and autogenous vaccines and its prospects, regulations, constraints and its action plan. The interface had discussions on checklist and requirements for clearance of import vaccines and evaluation of vaccines supplied by Industry under government supplies. The group also discussed on the need to have a monograph on autogenous vaccines to regulate the segment.
